Beauty Tips for the Week Before Your Wedding

It is the week before your wedding day! Congratulations!

As the bride, you have spent the last several months ensuring that every detail of your special day is perfect. Whether it is the venue, the menu that was carefully crafted, or the detailed seating chart for the reception, everything is perfect. Everything is exactly how it is supposed to be.

But there are still a few tiny details we have yet to sort out... what can you do the week before your wedding to properly take care of your skin and body?

Although it may seem simple enough, there are a few beauty tips and tricks that you should incorporate into your daily routine in the final days leading up to your wedding day to make sure you are picture-perfect. Trust us, it will be worth it.

DAY SEVEN

  • Start the clock! It is exactly seven days until your big day. If you haven’t already, increase your daily water intake! Staying hydrated will not only make you feel great, but your skin will glow, as water helps to flush out bad toxins in your body. Who doesn’t want glowing and hydrated skin for their big day?

  • Cut out alcohol

  • Minimize your sodium intake

We all love our yummy drinks and salty snacks, but your body will thank you for cutting these out for a few days. Alcohol and sodium increase your water retention, which leads to dehydration and bloating. These are all things we want to avoid on the big day. Do yourself a favor: grab your water bottle and drink up!

DAY SIX

At this point, there is a good chance you are beginning to feel the pressure of your wedding being literally around the corner. Don’t freak out yet! Instead, take a few moments and treat yourself to a facial. Your skin will thank you, and you will feel much more relaxed afterward. Guaranteed. Facials can cleanse your pores of dead skin cells, which in turn will give you the radiant complexion that every bride wants on her wedding day.

For all the brides who have sensitive skin, be especially cautious of facials that involve extractions; these may cause more harm than good for your skin by creating adverse reactions. These facials can damage your skin barrier or cause your face to break out, two things every bride does not want on her wedding day. Instead of going for an exfoliating treatment, opt for a hydrating facial. Your skin will still love it and you will glow.

And for all the brides, sensitive skin or not, do NOT get any chemicals peels, or laser treatments the week leading up to your big day. These invasive treatments might not heal in time for your wedding, leaving you red-faced in all your pictures. Don’t be tempted! Take care of your skin.

DAY FIVE

Since we have covered some ways you can take care of your face before your wedding, what about the rest of your body? Now would be a good time to start exfoliating daily, as this simple act will make your skin silky smooth. If you have recently gotten a spray tan, avoid exfoliating.

Doing so risks the longevity of your spray tan! Not only that but exfoliating on top of a spray tan can make your skin patchy. That’s a no-go for your wedding day (or any day, really).

DAY FOUR

It’s time to wax your face! Do not be tempted to try any new brow shapes in the days leading up to your wedding. Your wedding day is not the time to try a new shape, trust us. Stick to what you know! Just simply cleaning up your brows will make you feel loads better.

DAY THREE

Three. More. Days. Eek! Your wedding day is so close! Can you feel the anticipation in the air? Chances are, you probably can, and this anticipation might be making you tense and stressed. Why not release some muscle tension by treating yourself to a massage? This will help relax you and rejuvenate you for the coming days.

DAY TWO

If you haven’t already, now would be a great time to go ahead and get your manicure and pedicure done. Since all the wedding details are (hopefully) finalized, your nails won’t be chipped in your pictures if you get your mani done now! Not only will your nails look great, but you will feel great also. Be aware, however, if you have had a spray tan done in the last 24 hours; soaking your feet after a spray tan will most likely lead to funky tan lines, which nobody wants. Give your spray tan a few days before you get your pedicure done.

DAY ONE

Happy Wedding Day! All the years dreaming of this day, and the months that went into planning, have finally led you to this moment: your wedding day! Today is going to be one of the most special days of your life; try not to stress about the little details. Just soak everything in.

As you wait to get your hair and makeup done, start with a light, healthy breakfast that will provide you with energy throughout the day. Chances are as the day gets going, you are going to totally forget to eat! Start your day right with a smart breakfast.

Now that all the tiny details are worked out, you can celebrate your day knowing everything you have ever dreamed is about to come true. Incorporate these beauty tips and tricks in the week leading up to your wedding; we promise you will not regret it.
